Open-Source Calving Model

Joe Todd
Friday 21 April 2017

Joe has uploaded the calving models he developed during his PhD into the Elmer/Ice repository on Github. There’s a 2D and a 3D version, so if you want to model calving at your favourite outlet glacier, check it out! There’s some documentation on the Elmer/Ice Wiki and a methods paper is in the pipeline.

If you’re coming to EGU next week, come along to the Elmer/Ice users meeting on Wednesday where Joe will be presenting the calving model in more detail. If you’ve got a specific modelling study in mind, stop for a chat. And don’t forget that STAG are presenting a lot of exciting stuff about ice/ocean interactions and surging glaciers this year. See you there!
